This variant utilizes a single 2 MOA red dot reticle, optimized for precise shot placement while maintaining fast target acquisition. The clean dot-only configuration provides an uncluttered sight picture, making it well-suited for users prioritizing simplicity and accuracy across short to medium engagement distances.

The housing is constructed from CNC-machined aluminum, providing structural strength while keeping overall weight manageable for modern rifle setups. The optic is powered by a CR2032 battery, offering extended operational life, and incorporates Shake Awake™ technology, automatically activating the sight when motion is detected and conserving power during inactivity.

The ARO RD is typically supplied with a lower 1/3 co-witness Picatinny mount, allowing compatibility with standard AR-height backup iron sights. Digital controls provide easy brightness adjustment across multiple daylight and night vision settings.
